Another year and a half

Graphic designer/exhibit artist for the library now. Not teaching so much, instead doing lots of learning.

I've been building jewelry and costume pieces, and an empire on Etsy.com. [link] if anyone is interested.

Shifting gears to faeries, because who doesn't like sparkly stuff? Grumpy people, that's who!

Sometimes I wonder what happened to the burning desire to draw. I couldn't even tell you exactly where in my studio my Prismas are. I haven't used them in over a year. And my tablet is building up dust. In the meantime, my soldering iron is getting lots of use, as are my oven, and my hands.

Can't bring myself to update all the time. Not even on LJ, definitely not on Myspace and let's just add Facebook to the list. Hahahaha, FRIENDSTER! There are probably a handful more sites that I signed up on ages ago and immediately forgot. I'm good at that.

My brain-space is entirely occupied with long socks.

  • Listening to: pandora.com
  • Reading: teen fiction
  • Watching: the homeless be - in the park outside my window
  • Playing: grown-ups
  • Eating: pomegranate & white tea gummy pandars
  • Drinking: water, reluctantly

And more than 2 years go by

Still teaching, though more sporadically. I'm supreme overlord of a youth arts program. Amazing that someone thinks it wise to put me in charge. Now if only I can devise plans to take over the world that don't involve staying up past bedtime!

Learning flash, learning to paint, learning to knit, learning the balance between who I am and who I've been. There has been art, but all the energy I have for it is put into making it, rather than scanning it. I will post some, someday. You'll drown in a glorious flood of updates.

  • Listening to: a strangely quiet house
  • Reading: Refuse to Choose - Barbara Sher
  • Watching: the days tick by
  • Playing: house
  • Eating: Hola Fruta!
  • Drinking: Orange juice

Almost a year since I last dusted it off

School really kills that flame in me. So glad I'm done. I hadn't really felt like doing art, when it was demanded of me on a daily basis, with all this criteria, and all this criticism, and every bit of soul, and every bit of self taken out of it.

I am graduated now. Doing freelance work, but mostly still teaching children to draw. How funny is that joke?!? Funny ha-ha, or funny ...strange?

My fingers are getting little tingles of inspiration again. I actually did crank out some doodly little self-portraits and pictures of kids in my class. Then I painted some, and worked with markers and paper cutting and collage for my guy's 1 year anniversary gift. It comes and goes though, and I rarely hold onto anything anymore, certainly not long enough to scan it.

I'm so behind on everything. The past two weeks have been a blur of seemingly endless to-do lists.

Now....I babysit. There are babies, and they need to be sat upon!!!

My life breaks the sound barrier

To Kim: I can't believe how long it has been since I checked this stuff. I suck XTREME!

I'm fantastic! The world is a new place everyday, and I run through it full-speed. How are you doing? *miss*

DA wouldn't let me post a reply to you because...it hates me. That's alright though. I'm very clever.

These days: I'm living harder than ever before, loving cleaner and greener, burning the candle at both ends, and relishing my utter exhaustion.

All my art classes this quarter are digital, and I'm taking 16 hours, because I love punishment. I'm still working 2 jobs as well.

I got into a gig teaching drawing classes to children at the Kettering Community Center (Rosewood), and taught over the summer, and am schedule to teach this winter, and next summer. If things go well, I'll probably be asked back for Spring and Fall too. I certainly hope so, because I love it muchly!

I have a new boyfriend, and he is the most amazing person alive, and a total genius. Things are going scarily well on that front.

I still love my roommate. We don't want to kill each other or anything. It's amazing. She's like a sister, or a wife or a friend you've known since childhood. We finish each other's sentences, and most of the time don't even need to speak.

I don't stop by here as often as I should...if you want to reach me, email me, IM me, or catch me on LJ. I'm turning digital a little more every day.

*love*

Every Day is a Winding Road

Better.

In the midst of packing madness. Found the most lovely place to live with a lovely roommate who will allow me to hang art on the walls and have a dining room table.

Going to have my own room. We got a heated pool too! I can't wait to be there...one more week.

In other news. I love oil pastels, and someday I will post the oil pastel pics I have done, as well maybe, as the acrylic painting I'm working on (still building up some more texture).

Peace for me = peace for you = peace for me.
